Reduce your energy up to 50% without the use of solar panels.
Not only do these Energy Saving Products save you money in energy costs, many of them will actually add to the resale value of your home. Most homebuyers these days are very conscious about energy efficiency and many are also very environmentally conscious. Anything you do to improve the energy efficiency of your home makes your home more attractive to a potential buyer. Let's take a look at just a few of the products that you could use to save money now and boost the resale value of your home.

Radiant Barriers
Radiant barriers are another fairly low cost solution to improve the energy efficiency of your home. While radiant barriers can be installed anywhere, the most popular place to use them would be in the attic. As the hot sun beams down on a home, the attic space gets very hot, up to 60% hotter than inside your home. In order to keep this hot air out of the home (and the cooler air within), a barrier of reflective material is installed. This barrier, properly installed, can save up to 20% on heating and cooling costs in a sunny climate like Arizona.
Solar Attic Fans
One of the most cost effective options in new solar power technology is the solar attic fan. It saves you as much as 15% on your annual cooling costs plus it reduces your environmental impact.
Like traditional attic fans, the solar attic fan helps to vent the hot air out of your house, reducing moisture levels and extending the life of your roof. One major benefit to the solar attic fan over the traditional system, other than saving money, is that a solar powered attic fan costs ZERO to run. It does not need any electric power like traditional fans. Plus, most consumers enjoy the fact that it runs much quieter than the traditional system and needs much less maintenance as well.
Solar Water Heaters
In sunny climates such as
Solar water heaters can be either direct or indirect. The indirect solar water heater involves a flat panel collector with an absorber plate that will capture the heat energy directly from the sun. The flow tubes built into the collector have fluid inside which is heated by the solar energy. This fluid then goes to a heat exchanger in the water tank which transfers the heat to the water in the tank.
The direct water heater system has the water flowing directly through the collector and to the hot water storage tank. This type of system skips the heat exchangers needed in the indirect system but still needs a pump to circulate the water throughout the system.
Garage Door Insulation
The right garage door, installed correctly, is imperative for a home that has an attached garage or under the house garage. Improperly installed doors let a lot of air leak both in and out around them. Visualize this as dollars flying out the door as your expensive warm air goes out the door in the winter and your electric rates go up in the summer because your AC has to work twice as hard to cool your home.
